Daniella and her husband Charlie, brought forward the first Sanará location on the idyllic shores of Tulum, Mexico in 2014. The hotel received global recognition, both from guests and media, and was listed as #3 in the “Top 150 Greatest Hotels in the World” by Harper’s Bazaar, amongst other accolades.
Daniella defines Sanará spaces as ‘Offering refuge for those seeking shelter, to breathe into the nurturing embrace of the space we hold, in conscious curated havens where the path to healing is gently held through serene and accommodating lodging, curated nourishment, physical care and wellbeing, and relaxed yet sacred introspection.’
The process of creating Sanará allowed Daniella to deepen her own path of healing and wellness as she wove the tapestry of what became the Sanará experience around her own lifestyle, within Sanará spaces, and beyond.

Daniella’s restaurant brand Real Coconut Kitchen was birthed in Tulum, within Sanará, becoming a beloved and trusted space for travellers and locals alike, and with a loyal international fanbase. A Malibu Real Coconut Kitchen opened in 2020 and ran for 2 years, serving as a community hub providing healthful food for every body, and hosting regular events.. In addition, a corresponding food products range was distributed into 4000 stores across North America.
The accompany cookbook, Nourish Ourselves, Nurture Our World, features over 100 recipes from the Real Coconut Kitchen, telling the story of the unfolding of the brand and its success, and explaining Daniella’s foundational philosophy of caring for ourselves whilst making conscious choices to create positive impact for our
Daniella continues to champion sustainable and low impact ingredients: hero crops such as coconut, cassava, plantain, hemp, and marine phytoplankton, seeking ways in which we can be more aware of the impact of the choices we make to feed and nourish ourselves, and to honour our interconnected relationship with our planet.
